That’s why we require all Poppet caregivers, from last-minute babysitters to full-time home-educators, complete Identity, Address, Enhanced DBS and Safeguarding checks as standard.

We interview and approve every caregiver and work with trusted third-party identity verification specialists. Plus, both parents & caregivers can write & read reviews of each other on Poppet.

As time goes on, we have many more innovative safety features we’ll be adding, so that Poppet remains safe, secure, and community-driven.

What is poppet?

Poppet is a mobile app that helps parents and caregivers connect and find reliable childcare in their local community. Our platform allows parents to search for and book qualified caregivers for short-term or long-term childcare needs, and allows caregivers to offer their services and set their own rates.

How does Poppet work?

To use Poppet, simply download the app and create an account. As a parent, you can then search for caregivers in your area based on location, availability, and other preferences. You can view profiles and reviews for each caregiver, and message them directly to discuss availability and terms. Once you've found a caregiver you're interested in, you can book their services and pay through the app. As a caregiver, you can create a profile, set your rates and availability, and respond to booking requests from parents.

Is Poppet safe and reliable?

We take the safety of our users very seriously at Poppet. All caregivers on our platform are required to undergo a thorough background check before being approved to offer their services. We also have a number of features in place to ensure a safe and reliable experience for both parents and caregivers, such as in-app messaging, written reviews, and secure payment processing.

How much does Poppet cost?

Poppet is free to download and use. Caregivers set their own rates for their services, and parents are responsible for paying those rates directly to the caregiver through the app. Poppet receives a commission from each transaction from completed bookings, which we use to maintain the Poppet platform and ensure the safety of our users.

What types of childcare can I find on Poppet?

You can use Poppet to find all kinds of flexible childcare. Whether you're looking for a babysitter, a nanny, childminder or home nursery. You can even arrange family swaps, au pairs or travel childcare. We ensure every caregiver is vetted to the same high standard including an enhanced DBS.

How can I get started with Poppet?

To get started with Poppet, simply download the app and create an account. You'll be able to search for and book caregivers in your area, or create a profile and offer your services as a caregiver. If you have any questions or need help getting started, don't hesitate to reach out to our customer support team.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a booking?

Life can be unpredictable, and we understand that plans may change. If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, you can do so through the app. However, please be considerate of the caregiver's time and provide as much notice as possible.
